Brevard County Horseshoe Club wins the Florida State Inter-club Horseshoe Pitching Team Championships

In a day long competition at Wickham Park in Melbourne a team from the Brevard County Horseshoe Club prevailed over thirteen other teams to take the Florida state inter-club team championships. Fourteen teams from eight different clubs from around the state of Florida were entered. A total of 84 pitchers competed in the day long event.

Each team consisted of six pitchers and each pitcher pitched a total five games. The entire field was divided into classes according to pitching ability and each pitcher was assigned a handicap according to their established ringer pitching average. Every ringer and every close shoe counted in the points amassed to determine the winning team.

At the end of the day the Brevard number four team had compiled a total of 4601 points and was declared the winner. Team members were Lionel Galt, Gaie Shoman, Bill O'Neill, Vinny Germann, Louise Parker, and Jim Smith
